Dickenson County Youth Program helps DCCPP raise money for Prom

Youth participant Hunter and Youth Case Manager Stephanie volunteered to help Dickenson County Community Partners for Prevention in a fundraising event yesterday. DCCPP held the fundraiser during Ridgeview High’s Senior Night to raise money for prizes to be given away at prom coming up in the spring. They had a great time selling hot fudge cakes and wooden roses in preparation for Valentine’s Day.

Hunter and Stephanie also helped the high school’s junior varsity cheerleading squad sell popcorn to raise funds for their team.

Participation in community service activities is vital for developing well-rounded, engaged citizens. The SWVA Works WIOA Youth Program identifies volunteer opportunities throughout the community and offers incentives to those that wish to participate.
