In January, Hoppy found he needed a career change from the mining industry. He wasn’t sure where to turn but knew he wanted to get his CDL license since he knew of a few places hiring drivers. He had also been around big trucks most of his life and had a basic knowledge of driving and repairing large trucks.
He reached out to case manager Robyn Davis in April, and she was able to get him enrolled just in time for the next CDL class at Tri-County Driving Academy. He began training on April 18th and passed the DMV CDL test on May 11th. He was able to go to work immediately CDL driver for a local trucking company and is doing well.
