As a former justice-system-involved individual, Travis Jackson struggled to find full-time employment. He was able to scrape by doing odd jobs like tree trimming but knew that he had to find a steady job to make ends meet.
After meeting with case manager Lisa Hubbard, Travis became interested in getting his CDL. The WIOA Adult Program paid tuition for him to attend the CDL class at Tri-County Driving Academy, mileage reimbursement to and from training, and also purchased work uniforms for him. Shortly after completing the class, he accepted a job with Vorst Paving in Ohio. Even though he works out of town, he looks forward to coming back to the area on weekends.
Travis says, “I am so happy that I came and enrolled in the WIOA [Adult] Program, and I will never be able to thank you enough.”
